This strong, classic 1969 Columbia 36 Sloop will make a perfect and affordable liveaboard or inter-island cruiser, especially for anyone looking to own their first sailboat or start living on the water.
This is a sturdy sailboat, perfect for Hawaiian swells and weekend trips. She could also be kitted out for blue water passages.
This truly is an exceptional good buy! Current BUC Valuation of $15,400 to $17,500 in "Average Condition" does not include electronics, solar panels and inverter, new sails or new salon and dinette cushions.
She was previously sailed regularly - 2-3 times a month around the islands with no issues. Recently, the owner has not had time to sail her.
The original 22HP Albin diesel still runs strong but the hours are unknown. There are currently no known issues with the engine and it is running well. The hour meter reads 200 but this is most likely not accurate or functioning. There is a 30-gallon fuel tank on the port side.
Accommodation consists of a forward V-berth, a couch/bed on the starboard side and a horseshoe dinette to port which converts into a double berth. All cushions were recently replaced with brand new foam and marine vinyl and look very nice.
There are two aft single berths as well are currently used for storage.
The small galley is fully functional with a sink, microwave, crock pot and storage shelves. There is a mini-fridge on the boat as well. All assorted pots, pans, and utensils which are currently on the boat can be included in the sale.
The head and sink are both fully functioning. The head/shower area are in a walk-through to the forward V-berth to port with custom built in storage to starboard. Currently there are no doors between the salon/head/V-berth. These will need to be replaced.
Overall, she is very clean with extended cockpit/aft deck space for a boat this size due to a sizeable lazarette.

Overall, this is a very clean and spacious boat with solid bones which could benefit from some cosmetic work including bright work and updated deck paint.
The last haul-out and bottom job were over four years ago, and she is due for a new one, although the bottom is cleaned every month and there are no signs of significant crud accumulating on the bottom.
Age of rigging is unknown.
Engine hours are unknown.
There is no fresh water holding tank but plenty of space to install one.
The doors between the salon, head and V-berth will need to be replaced.
There is also currently no shower head.
The boat is currently moored in a liveaboard slip in Sand Island. The marina currently has openings so the slip is 'transferable' with an approved application. The marina provides bathroom and shower facilities, WIFI, water, electric, a fuel dock and dry dock, 24-hour security and gated parking. This is one of the safest and most desirable marinas on Oahu. Tenants also get a discount for dry dock services and haul-outs.
Recently passed marina safety inspection - 11/2017.
