We are proud to label this boat sold. Hope to see you in Corpus Christi, TX!

Very proactive in keeping me updated regarding buyer inquiries, showings etc. Web site looked great. The closing process was so incredibly fast and seamless it almost occurred without realizing it, much less requiring effort or time on my part. The team was personable and took the initiative to reach out personally both by voice and email. The only negative is that they didn't have a local rep with security access to my marina which made setting up viewings a little more challenging.

1972 Columbia 43 Sloop Sailboat in Corpus Christi, Texas

Stock #144766

This 43' Bill Tripp designed Columbia sloop is set up for extended cruising, single handing and live aboard.

This boat is very stiff and stable upwind with a high ballast to displacement ratio. She points upwind exceptionally well and this is what the owner would consider to be her best point of sail with respect to efficiency.

This remarkably tough boat has ridden out several hour hurricane-force storm winds being operated single-handedly! She can handle a lot of wind even with 155% genoa fully deployed without too much heel. The huge rudder makes it easy to control when powered up. With a light touch at the helm, she tracks well with no cross walk in reverse.

The Perkins 4.107 engine was fully rebuild in 2012 and currently has less than 100 hours. The entire exhaust/raw water system was also replaced at the same time.

The Borg-Warner V-drive was rebuilt in 2002 with new shaft with folding prop.

The bottom was refinished to fiberglass in 2002.

The hull above waterline was coated with Awl gripped in 2004 and still has no blemishes.

Other desirable features include:

-- 16K BTU AC
-- Dickensen diesel fireplace
-- 125W Solar
-- AirX Wind Generator
-- 120v Pro sine wave inverter
-- 4 Trojan 12V batteries
-- 12V Reefer
-- 120v Icemaker
-- New Blue Sea 16DC/8AC electric panel in box plus 100' new Anchor marine Romex
-- -- Full cockpit Dodger and Bimini with Eisenglass Enclosure (Some re-stiching needed)

Safety and Navigation Equipment Included:

-- 4 Man Canister Hydro-Activated Life Raft - Deck Mounted
-- AIS Transceiver
-- Icom VHF w/ Remote
-- Raymarine Tri-data and Wind with new Transducer instrument
-- Weatherfax Receiver
-- Autohelm Autopilot
-- Two CQR Anchors on Bow Roller
-- Emergency oversized Danforth

Sail and Rigging Inventory:

-- UK genoa and Full Batten Main (both periodically resewn and in good condition)
-- HK Sails asymmetric with snuffer (never used)
-- Pro-furl elliptic Furler
-- 2 rebuilt Barient primaries with auto-tail
-- 4 Barient secondaries

About half the standing rigging has been replaced during the current owner's ownership and it is still strong.

The lifelines were replaced in 2005 with new stainless steel; there is no coating or sheathing on the wire to hide corrosion.

Below deck accommodation consists of a forward V-berth, four single berths in fold-down bunk style in the main salon and one head.

The galley includes a Origo alcohol/120V 2-burner stovetop and the head is an Electrosan. This boat also features a stereo with four speakers in the cabin and two in the cockpit.

The ocean deck hatches provide very good ventilation throughout the vessel.

The dodger, bimini, sail cover and hatch covers were custom built in 2010. The entire cockpit is fully enclosed with zip-in eisenglass panels and has nice stand up headroom over full length of cockpit. The seams need re-stitching due to UV deterioration and are currently being stored.

All interior/exterior cushion foam and covers were replaced around 2008 and are in very good condition with little use.

Seller has several assorted samples of matching Sunbrella canvas, eisenglass and interior cushion cover along with a generic brand Sailrite sewing machine which will be included in the sale. An excellent sailmaker/stitcher is also available locally to do this.

All tinted Lexan panels and exterior wood - except toe rail tops - were replaced in 2014. These have all been sealed with three part Interlux Perfection epoxy for UV resistance and long life maintenance free. The three part epoxy consists of resin, catalyst and special matched thinner for smoother flow and better wood absorption.

Information On Condition

This rugged 2-owner boat had been exceptionally well cared for and will make a great family boat.

There have been many upgrades with continual maintenance. Seller has all receipts, maintenance records, and manuals.

There are a few soft spots on deck which have not caused any issues and do not seem to be getting worse. A slow cure epoxy is recommended for this.

Some track/toe rail damage near starboard stern was just discovered. Most likely a mooring line got snagged or over stressed while in the slip. This will either be taken care of prior to sale or negotiated in an offer price if a new buyer wants to repair this.

This beauty is and ready for some bluewater adventures!

More photos and info coming soon, including the canister life raft with hydrostatic release which is mounted in factory cradle on front end of the cabin roof.
