We're sorry to see this one go but check out some other options below.
This 1983 Endeavour 40 features a center cockpit, aft cabin layout. The main cabin is large and open. The adjoining galley is on a separate level and out of the flow of traffic. The aft state room features a queen-size berth, hanging lockers, drawers and a private head with shower. The forward cabin boasts a V-berth with a hanging locker, drawers and a private access door to the forward head and shower.
The Endeavour has a separate engine room with plenty of space around the Perkins. Access to all angles of the engine is convenient. Side access is through the main engine room door, forward access is under the stairs and aft access is via a hatch near the floorboard of the aft cabin.
On deck, the center cockpit is surrounded by bench seating with cushions. Currently mounted is a bimini top. Side enclosures are included. 4 large hatches and 16 ports provide light and ventilation below deck.
The Endeavour has a well built, stable hull. Her design affords her the ability to sail anywhere in the world!
The overall condition of this boat seems to be good. The deck was very clean, neat and orderly. The teak wood was recently sanded and refinished (topside). The rigging appeared to be in good shape. Below deck, was much the same.
The hull is cleaned once a month. The owner indicated the boat is due for a bottom job. He has already purchased the paint and will include it in the sale, if not applied beforehand.
As for aesthetic appeal, the next owner might want to consider painting the side of the hull. The burgundy stripe near the deck has faded. Also, the teak railing that lines either side of the hull needs to be sanded and refinished. However, the owner has it on his list to do.
I did not see the condition of the sails; however, the owner indicated they are functional but might need some TLC.
