1972 Ericson 27 Sloop Sailboat in Stamford, Connecticut

Stock #177410

The Ericson 27 is a well-rounded sailing vessel, very solidly built as many of the age were, offering moderate performance and tame handling qualities.

With plenty of berth space for her size, this boat cannot be ruled out for extended cruising or even liveaboard missions in addition to day and overnight cruising.

This particular vessel is in surprisingly good condition compared to others of its age still remaining afloat, no ham-bone remodeling, and what has been done over the years and successive owners has been toward greater simplicity or reliability, for example removing the original engine and switching to outboard auxiliary, rewiring the boat to current standards and installing shore power, etc.

The interior is otherwise in largely original condition and floor plan, the removal of the engine making space for a generous refrigerator and additional storage.

So, read the reviews and forums, there are plenty of them on the web as almost 1,300 were built and many still in service, and if this seems to be the right boat for the mission you have in mind and you want a chance at owning it, take action.

Information On Condition

The photos tell the story, standing rigging appears to be in good order, running rigging serviceable, sail inventory appears in good condition, no soft spots to be found underfoot and the owner reports that the engine runs well, all the electronics and systems work and the boat is basically ready to sail over the horizon.
