1976 Gulfstar 37 Center Cockpit Sloop Sailboat in Bellingham, Washington

This is a production built center cockpit Gulfstar 37. The hull is round bilged and has a raked stem with anchor platform, and internal ballast long fin keel, an inboard skeg shoe hung rudder, and a transom stern with added wind vane system. There are aluminum rub rails, there are teak toerails, there are stainless steel bow and stern rails, and double lifelines run on stainless steel stanchions.

The deck layout is a center cockpit design. The foredeck is open, followed by the long cabin trunk which has the cockpit recessed aft of amidships. At 6' 5", the GULFSTAR has ample headroom.

The forward section of the trunk has three skylight hatches in addition to a companionway to the cockpit and three ports and two windows on each side, and the aft section has a companionway to the cockpit, a single skylight hatch, and two ports on each side.

The cockpit has a steering pedestal with folding table, coaming seat backs, and seat hatches to storage areas.

The PERKINS 4-108 DIESEL engine is rated at 50hp and is fresh water cooled. The exhaust is a "water lift muffler and is vented by a 12vDV fan. The engine has 2 fuel filters, and engine mount and a RACOR.

There is a removable Mast Mate with Steps. There are no steps on the mast itself.

More detail:

The vessel has 8000 lbs of ballast.

The engine prop shaft is 1" Stainless steel. The struts and bearings are bronze v-strut with rubber cutlass bearing.

The prop is an AUTOSTREAM 18" feathering three blade made of stainless steel and is in very good condition.

Seller will consider "owner finance" options for qualified purchasers.

Dinghy included: SUN MARINE 9' Inflatable with NEW 2.5 HP Yamaha

Information On Condition

Overall, you will find this vessel in fine working condition.

Good quality sails and quality rigging which is fresh and strong.

This GULFSTAR is truly a "cruising Sailboat" designed for charter and a great live-aboard.

There is an additional 70' of 5/16 chain and 150' of 1" yacht braid which is used as the dock line.

The vessel is well equipped and suitable of offshore sailing. She is definitely captain and crew friendly, and can easily be made suitable for world travel.

Seller plans to put the boat on the hard in September. It will be shrink-wrapped but remains available for showings.

IMPORTANT INFO: this seller continues to regularly perform routine maintenance and upkeep. A survey was performed in August of 2018, and the seller has remedied most if not all the documented survey results.

Notes from the survey include these findings:

1. "This vessel has been continuously serviced and upgraded by its owners. The vessel is well equipped for extended cruising. Reported significant work in recent years has included:

Engine rebuilt 13 - 14 years ago
Upper shrouds renewed 7 or 8 years ago.
New propeller shaft and bearing in 2012, and the propeller V-Strut was reseated in correct alignment
Whale manual bilge pump renewed in 2012
The water tanks were renewed with stainless steel units about sixteen years ago.
The electric bilge pump was renewed in 2012
The opening ports were renewed about eighteen years ago.
The steering cables were renewed about 11 years ago
The backstay chainplate was renewed about 10 years ago
The halyards were renewed about 8 years ago
Between 6 and 8 years ago the interior of the vessel was professionally rebuilt and refinished as needed, except for the aft head and aft cabin headliner.
A new headstay and furling system installed about 6 years ago
New main, jib, and spinnaker about five years ago
Extensive new wiring has been completed on this vessel in receint years, including new batteries, and new battery wiring, bew battery charger, new alternator and regulator, new ACR, and new battery switching
A new wind generator has been installed
New dinghy and outboard engine

Effective October 1 and Until further notice the boat is not available for water trial.
