We're sorry to see this one go but happy to say that she has been sold.
When this Sloop 260 entered production, Hunter offered two configurations. The most commonly found version was built with a swing centerboard that draws 6 feet when lowered and has a water ballast system that makes it ideal for towing. However, this offering was the alternate iteration with a fixed bulb wing keel and a shoal draft of 3 feet, 6 inches. Obviously, not catering to the "trailerable" market the main option was set to capture.
This Hunter 260 is powered by a 9hp, Yanmar Diesel inboard. It is a standard Wheel steering setup at the helm with a cable system to the aft mounted rudder. The cockpit has two bench seats on both sides of the helm, with a fair amount of storage space.
Heading below deck, the galley is to the Starboard side and an enclosed head with sink and vanity are to Port. Moving forward is a sizable dinette with seating on both sides.
Aft of the companionway is a doghouse for the Yanmar engine. Behind the doghouse is a spacious area for sleeping or additional storage.
Overall, this Hunter 260 is in decent shape but did sustain damage from hurricane Matthew. When the stom hit, the boat was in a dry storage yard and the vessel next to it blew over and knocked the Hunter off its stand. The mast was knocked off, and some side wall damage occurred. A new mast had been purchased but not mounted. The side wall damage has also been repaired but still needs to be painted.
Other items of note, the Yanmar engine has been rebuilt, and the owner estimates less the 10 hours of run time. The cable steering, rudder mounting bracket, aft deck skylight and fuel tank are all new. The interior and exterior cushions have all been steam cleaned and stored indoors (see last few photos in the gallery).
Please note, the owner is still working on the boat, and the current price point reflects a finished product. Should a buyer be interested in purchasing the vessel in the current condition, reasonable offers will be entertained.
60-day Sea Tow membership* comes standard with your boat purchase!
All reasonable offers will be reviewed and presented to the seller.
All offers are contingent upon being fully satisfied with unit after personal inspection and/or professional inspection.
