This a very well cared for 1981 Hunter 30 that cosmetically looks more like ten years old rather than 37 years old. This particular Hunter sails well on all points of sail and is very strong and stout. The Cherubini designed Hunters have solid hand-laid fiberglass hulls. Stronger than original rigging was installed approximately fifteen years ago. All blocks are high strength and high-performance Lewmars.
The cabin is very spacious with a private stateroom forward. It has a good V-berth forward, then a head with small hanging locker opposite, settee berths on each side with a drop-leaf table in the middle, an L-shaped galley, with the sink underneath the companionway, and a quarter berth, with a chart table at its head. The berths are of decent size.
The deck house is high and wide, and this gives a look of spaciousness below. The white hull liner overhead helps to offset the extensive teak veneer on the bulkheads, ceilings, sole, and furniture. By the way, the cabin offers 6' 3" headroom, even in the forward stateroom.
There are numerous windows and hatches for plenty of light inside. The eight opening port-lights with screens offers good light and ventilation. The seller added two Nicro stainless steel 24/7 solar vents, which keeps the cabin clean and fresh smelling and deters mold or mildew.
The seller added a new dodger and a top quality Finland made Origo non-pressurized twin burner alcohol stove in 2016. Another fine addition to the vessel is the custom designed and constructed transom exhaust system which was a $5,000 investment.
This seller has accomplished many recent upgrades and has maintained this sailing vessel with an open checkbook. It is very clean inside and out! The sides of the hull are bright and shiny. I walked the entire deck and found no apparent soft spots.
The cabin is very clean, tidy and fresh smelling with no signs of water infiltration, mildew or mold.
Also worth noting: Full owner manuals are onboard for all systems- stove, head, chart plotter, Yanmar service manual, battery charger, auto pilot, Datamarine instruments.
2019: the seller installed a new stainless prop shaft along with a three blade Maxi feathering bronze propeller. This was a $4,000 investment.
July 2018: A new dripless shaft seal was professionally installed along with a new Bimini, dodger and connector.
