The Islander 36 is a very popular cruiser and at the time of its build was considered ahead of her time. The interior is comfortable for cruising and the hull is built for efficiency. By today's standards, the Islander is a performance cruiser that offers a lot of opportunities for family sailing at a very affordable price.
The Islander has a unique layout with a helm in the pilothouse and a mid-berth on the port side. The salon has been gutted for the engine installation. Although this Islander is in the process of restoration, mostly what is left is woodwork.
The Islander is in the process of restoration. The engine was removed and replaced with an electric engine. The pilothouse/salon was gutted and removed. The inner fiberglass was restored and the electric engine, battery, and wiring were replaced. The plywood flooring is temporary and ready for new flooring.
The canvas is in good condition. The sails appear to be in above-average condition. The exterior has some thinning gel coat and some areas of non-skid could use new paint.
