This is a 1983 Pearson 303 sloop. The boat appears that she has benefited from good long term care.
Bill Shaw and Pearson Yachts were well known for making successful club racer/family cruising sailboats and this is one of the more popular ones they produced. Designed to follow up the well-known Pearson 30, this boat was a major improvement in stability and interior space over its predecessor.
While having a modest 30' length, the nearly 11-foot beam and high freeboard give the interior space usually found on much larger boats. With ample room to sleep 6 you can cruise comfortably for an extended period.
The P303 has a traditional and well thought out sailing plan. Sloop rigged with a masthead design, she has the equipment needed to allow easy single-handed sailing. RF headsail is on Harken gear. A traveler is mounted on the well-designed bridge deck and there are Lewmar S/T primary winches. Both main and headsail are easily managed from behind the wheel by the helmsman. There is a huge lazarette under the port seating area.
Below is where the P303 really set herself apart. There is ample headroom throughout the cabin interior and space for you and all your gear. A large vee berth forward is provided with ample storage as well. Opening ports (screened) and an overhead hatch give both light and air to the area.
Aft to starboard is a large enclosed head with a shower. Big enough to be functional (not the case on many sailboats of this size) it has molded features that make it easy to keep clean. The opposite is a large hanging locker with secure latching to keep all secure.
A bulkhead mounted table has a drop-leaf - it can be secured up out of the way, used with the leaf down to seat to or fully deployed to seat the whole crew. Collapsible water and waste containers are under the starboard settee and additional storage is under the port side with more storage outboard of both.
A full galley is aft to port and a large quarter berth is aft to starboard. The galley consists of a two-burner propane stove operated by portable tanks, an icebox, storage drawers, and cabinets as well as both manual and pressure water feeds.
Please call me today to discuss her- I'd be happy to answer any questions, arrange a showing, or discuss an offer. You will not be disappointed.
The owner reports the boat's systems to be in proper working order at present. The boat has all systems required to be operational, both under power and under sail. Wind instruments and autopilot are both present to help in the operation of the boat.
