1964 Pearson Vanguard Sloop Sailboat in Berkeley, California

The Pearson Vanguard is a vessel created by Phil Rhodes. She was designed at the beginning of the mass-produced fiberglass boat period, and that means they were designed as if they were going to be built of wood. Built of fiberglass instead, they were greatly over built as no one had a clear idea of the strength of fiberglass. The result was a boat with long overhangs, a narrow beam, and a thick hull.
This boat has been undergoing a major refit over the last 4 years but its owners have abandoned the project and she needs to be finished!
The previous owners were fiberglass craftsmen and went through the entire vessel correcting anything that needed attention. The hull was fared and there is a $10K Awl Grip paint job with fresh bottom paint.
There is a brand New Rudder installed.
There is a brand new Solidnav Explorer electric motor with brand new batteries installed and ready to go.
Includes a brand new ENGEL 12V refrigerator, Force 10 stove top, and composting head (never used).
New electrical panel and wiring for motor and batteries completed.
Brand New port holes all around!
This vessel is currently owned by the boat yard that did all the work, and all the parts are ready for reassembly by the right buyer.
This is a great opportunity to own a classic racer-cruiser that has been extensively gone thru and upgraded!
Past owners abandoned this vessel to the yard after completing so much high quality work! This is a project boat that needs assembly. All the important systems are Brand New.
Deck has been professionally glassed and is ready for paint where needed. All deck hardware is present but will need to be installed. Cabin top has new paint.
Interior needs to be finished. All trim is present but will need to be installed. Brand New Force 10 stove needs installation.
The head area has been glassed and sanded but will need finish and paint.
New composting head never used but will need to be installed.
Plumbing and cabin electrical work will need to be completed.
Boatyard owner will step mast and rigging with purchase.
