1982 S2 9.2C Sloop Sailboat in Alameda, California

Stock #140465

Powerboat builder Leon R. Slikkers founded S2 Yachts in 1974. He commissioned Arthur Edmonds (the designer of the Allied Princess 36 and Mistress 39) to design the S2 9.2. Over 700 models were sold.

This is the 9.2C which has a center cockpit. It's a fin keel, partially balanced skeg-hung rudder, and masthead sloop rig makes it a relatively easy boat to sail, while offering a roomy cabin with 6'3" headroom and a 10'3" beam. The single-spreader aluminum mast, painted black (an S2 trademark) is stepped on deck over a compression post that's built into the main bulkhead.

The first step into the cabin is a step onto the engine box and provides for wide and easy access. The corner galley to starboard has a sink, icebox, and stove. Opposite is a quarter berth and the nav table with a folding seat.

There are two tons of lead ballast encapsulated in a sealed keel cavity. Due to superb workmanship and design, owners agree that well-cared-for boats show little wear and tear after three decades of hard sailing and the gel coat is generally free of stress cracks.

Information On Condition

This vessel shows pride of ownership. The owner characterizes the boat, rigging, sails (a main and foresail) and engine to be in good condition, with a recent engine service and regular maintenance practices. It helps that the boat is known for superior workmanship that makes her even easier to maintain!

The original engine with approx 820 hrs was reportedly rebuilt in 2009. It is estimated there are 120 hours since that rebuild.

The hull is cleaned every three months and zincs checked.

Engine serviced.
