This 1963 Bertram has made it thru the paces of time. Its legendary construction and timeless style will last for years to come. This survivor has had two owners, that have given it an extensive amount of work to keep it in its glory. This boat has decades of use ahead of it. The boat has a wide beam, nice sized cabin and a huge rear deck. The owners have kept the original hardware on the boat. The blue signature windshield stripe in good shape. The windshield opens to let the cool ocean breeze thru.
In 2000 the boat was converted into an outboard high-performance machine. It had an Armstrong bracket installed and two 250hp Mercury engines, that are mounted to hydraulic jack plates. The seller states the stainless props push this boat up to 60mph. Twin ram trim tabs are controlled by an auto-leveling system.
In 2017 the boat received more extensive work. The rear deck was removed, and new fuel tanks were installed. During that stage, all hoses and wiring was replaced. High volume bilge pumps were installed. New upholstery in the Vee -berth, new cushions. A new stainless framed bimini top with a removeable Strataglass enclosure keeps you out of the elements.
If the boat was to be kept in the water, a fresh coat of bottom paint would be a good idea. The bottom of the boat looks great with no visible damage.
The trailer is included with the boat. It looks like it is in great shape. The tires have plenty of tread and all of the lights are LED. The seller states the brakes work great, a new actuator was installed along with a jack. The rollers appear to be in great shape. The torsion axles have almost no corrosion.
There is a new VHF and Stereo. There is also a color GPS/sounder with a new transducer. An onboard battery charger keeps the three batteries charged. An onboard inverter powers up the 110v outlets. Multi-color LED lights illuminate behind the wooden trim boards.
Overall this boat is in amazing condition for its age. All of the mechanical systems have been upgraded and the refit work is top notch.
The gel-coat has a couple of chips and minor spider cracking is present. These imperfections are very minor considering the vintage. A couple of gauges do not work.
The seller states the engine have rebuilt powerheads from Mercury. The seller is unable to provide documentation at this time. The seller has claimed 100 hours since the powerheads were installed.
