Since 1946, Egg Harbor has been synonymous with top-of-the-line Sportfisher Convertibles. Serious fishing or serious cruising, Eggs are known for quality, value and attention to every detail. This is why we still see some of these beautiful yachts around 40, 50, 60 years later.
This 1973 Sportfish Convertible 33 version is currently owned and maintained by a professional engineer. He is the second owner since 1987.
Two years earlier, this vessel was repowered with new Fresh Water Cooled Chrysler 440 V-8's. Pushing out 330 horsepower a side, she will achieve around 20 knots at cruise, 32 at WOT.
When this rep stepped aboard on August 20, 2016 to photograph her, it was immediately apparent that the current owner took great pride in his vessel. Well maintained, smooth and varnished Teak inside and out is typically evident of an owner who enjoys owning a vintage vessel. After 50 years in boating, it is time, sadly, for him to get out of boating. Yup! The worst day....
Besides her obvious beauty, this Egg boasts strong MECHANICAL and ELECTRICAL systems...
- Fresh Water Cooled Engines
- Borg Warner Gears (1.91:1)
- Heavy-duty Truck Batteries
- Charles Marine Battery Charger (30 Amp)
- Trim Tabs
- Perko Battery Switches
- AC/DC Electric Panel (New)

The Custom Cabinet on the port side in the cockpit and aft of the sliding cabin door was built by this owner. It will store all fishing gear and has 4 drawers of Tackle Storage.
The Sliding Glass Door to the cabin leads to a very spacious salon with comfy reading chairs to starboard and a pull-out couch that sleeps two to port. Salon clears 6'3" headroom.
With Full Galley down to port, all the kitchen ammenities of home are here, including Microwave, Coffe Maker and plenty of Storage Cabinets.
Opposite to starboard is the full Head (Vacuflush) with Shower and Vanity...roomy and comfortable.
The Stateroom forward with V-berth, dual hanging closets, plenty of Lighting and Storage makes living aboard a matter of convenience.
Many Egg Harbor builders are also Egg Harbor owners, a testament to their value and quality. While this owner is not a builder, he probably could be, having professionally refurbished this beauty to most factory specs.
When this representative stepped aboard for photos on August 18th, 2016, it was immediately evident that pride in ownership has been the mantra of this owner. She is very clean and functional.
With a new Electrical Panel, ABYC color coding and this owners engineering knowledge, USCG specs have been restored.
The original wood bridge has been replaced by a factory fiberglass bridge/hardtop with custom Stainless hand rails and Windshield. The Cushions and Helm Seat are new and custom manufactured for this bridge config.
Eggs of this vintage typically had/have front window leaking problems, as does this vessel. The seller is having this repaired and resealed.
The Stainless outer Rub Rails have been removed so that the wood beneath can be replaced so that the rails can be re-affixed. This process is mostly complete with the new rails in place, just needing the Stainless put back. This too will be completed by this owner prior to sale.
The hull is solid, as usual, as is the deck above, the new bridge configuration and the cockpit. No soft spots or sponginess anywhere.
The steering was replaced in 2015 with the current Teleflex Hydraulic System.
This vessel does include Lee Outriggers (not shown) with double spreaders, Gold-tipped.
Props are 4-blade 18 X 20 attached to 1 1/4 inch Monel Shafts.
60-day Sea Tow membership* comes standard with your boat purchase!
