1989 Hatteras 48 Sportfish Convertable Fishing Boat in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Stock #134050

Although located in Canada, due to Canadian regulations, this boat is not available for sale to potential buyers in Canada.

This Classic, 1989, 48', Hatteras, Sportfish Convertible has been updated through out.

She is turn key & sitting near the Palm Beach inlet.

She has a duel, stateroom configuration with the master stateroom all the way forward, a huge cockpit with a 16' beam, & a very spacious fly bridge with a tuna tower above.

The master state room includes a queen berth that sleeps two. All new linens & bed coverings were added.

The master includes hanging lockers, additional storage, sets of drawers, & it's own dedicated, air conditioner & thermostat.

The master stateroom has it's own, private bathroom with vanity, separate head, & walk in shower.

The guest state room is to the starboard side just aft of the master. It has double bunks, also with new linens & covers. The guest room has a fair amount of storage as well.

It also has its' own dedicated air conditioner & thermostat.

Both, overhead hatches in the master & guest stateroom have been replaced & new ones installed.

The guest state room has a private access door to the guest bathroom. This bathroom also has a separate head, vanity, it's own walk in shower, including another door that accesses the companionway.

Both bathrooms have newly, installed, marble, tiled floors.

The entire cabin including the salon, galley, stairs, & staterooms besides the bathrooms have had new, laminate, vinyl, planking flooring installed. This makes the floor entirely water proof.

Across from the guest stateroom & bathroom on the port side is a utility closet the is plumbed for a washer & dryer stack.

The washer & dryer was taken out by the previous owner. It now houses tools & is used for storage. It can easily accommodate a new washer & dryer.

Just aft of this area on the starboard side behind the guest state room is a nice storage cabinet above the stairs for ships' logs & misc. storage.

Just aft of this area up three stairs is the Galley which is down the two stairs from the main, salon area.

The Galley includes an electric, princess, three burner stove with a hood above it. There is a cover for it which includes a cutting board.

There is a microwave & plenty of storage above & below the counter top in several cabinets & drawer sets.

Left of the stove top is an oversized freezer below the counter top.

The galley includes an oversized refrigerator across from the freezer next to the stainless, steel sink. Both the freezer & the refrigerator are working nicely.

In front of the galley sink on the salon side is a bar top with a couple of bar stools that fit underneath.

The salon is very spacious & can accommodate a fair number of people comfortably.

A new, air conditioner was recently installed which is dedicated to the salon with its' own thermostat.

There are a total of three air conditioners on board. The stainers are cleaned every week.

Most of the interior, salon walls were stained & refinished.

The headliner was not replaced, only cleaned. It is in great shape. Looks brand new.

A new, light colored, leather, L, shaped sofa was added to the salon.

The entertainment center was changed & updated to accommodate a medium size, flat screen television.

The wine & drink area was also modified.

Just below the entertainment space on the starboard wall is a U-Line Ice Maker, that pumps out ice.

All new roller blinds & valance boxes with new fabric were added to the salon. New lighting above the windows & in the staterooms were also added.

The windows were all resealed with new gaskets. The existing tint was removed & new tint was added.

The port & starboard windows are sliding widows.

Under the main Salon are access panels to reach the top side of the engines when needed for service.

Most of the circuit breaker panels are in the Salon along the port wall in the cabinets. More are located in the engine room which is accessed outside the salon through it's own door & stairway under the salon.

The Onan,15Kw generator was recently serviced, adjusted, checked to make sure the proper electricity was being produced & it was working properly. There are approximately 1009 hours on it. This is located just starboard upon entering the engine room.

The vessel has twin, 8V82TA GM, Detroit Diesel Engines which supply the vessel with a total of 1440 horsepower. They are 8 cylinder with duel turbos on each engine.

They have been recently serviced.

The port side recently had the rear main seal between the engine & the transmission replaced.

Both engines had the cooling systems pulled, flushed, cleaned, & new cooling lines added with all new, double, stainless, steel clamps.

New impellers were installed. The seller has extras.

The recirculation pumps were not changed because they are still running great.

Seller has all service records & receipts for everything.

There are only about 40 hours on the engines since all this service was done as of 10.20.2017

Seller wanted to make sure there would be no doubt the boat would have any issues while he used it, so he just fixed anything & did the maintenance because it was the right thing to do.

Just about every clamp was replaced on the engine.

There was $5,000 spent of stainless clamps alone.

Each engine cost about $12,000 to service properly.

All new fuel lines were installed & new air filters were added.

Injectors were all pulled, cleaned, & redone.

Engines were painted.

The Racor, fuel filter elements were changed out. Seller has extra filters.

There are two 8D batteries for each engine which are new & attached to a four bank, battery charger.

The Generator also has a new, 12v battery & a new, battery charger.

To be clear, there are four, battery chargers on board. Three are new. Two are for each of the the new thrusters, one for the generator, & one is for the main battery bank.

A Max Power bow & stern thruster were added to the boat. Each has two, new, gel batteries & it's own Pro Mariner, Pro Sport 12, 2 bank, battery charger. They are both 8.5 horsepower thrusters.

The bow thruster, battery, & charger is under the master queen bed.

The stern thruster equipment is in the cockpit under the deck near the steering. The thruster is attached to the swim platform.

This make the boat incredibly maneuverable in the stiffest wind & current.

On the fly bridge there is a joy stick remote control & there is also a hand held remote control for the two thrusters.

The grounding plates in the boat have been replaced with new ones. The groundings for the shafts, engines, cooling systems have all been redone.

There is an oil exchanger system. It is the 905 Model. It changes the oil on both engines & their transmissions. Generator is not hooked up to it.

There is a 30 gallon water heater.

There is a 600 gallon & a 215 gallon fuel tank. There are approximately 400 gallons on board currently as of 10.20.2017

The boat was last hauled out in 2015 where the cutlass bearings were inspected & found to be in good condition. They were not replaced.

The rudder bearings & shaft seals were replaced.

The zincs are changed every four months & the bottom is cleaned monthly by a diver.

The hull is made from polyester resin which was known to have blisters occur. This boat had blisters when it was last hauled.

The seller had them all ground out, then filled with epoxy & cabosil. The bottom was then coated with five coats of epoxy paint which water proofed the hull, then three coats of bottom paint where added.

This was two years ago & the bottom is due to be painted most likely.

The propellers were sent out to a prop. shop before going back in the water. They were reconditioned, then coated with a ceramic, powered coat.

The rudders were epoxy painted.

The cockpit was deck was painted to match the existing gel coat color. The bow & entire topside deck was also painted to match.

The bow pulpit was sanded, epoxy painted & then painted to match the rest of the deck.

New running light housings & lights were added.

At the last haul out, the tower was removed, sandblasted, & powdered, coated white then reinstalled.

A headliner was made for the tower which is not in the pictures. It hides all the aluminum under the tower on the bridge above the helm & matches the new, kakis, colored upholstery on the bridge.

New, black canvas was added to the newly, powered coated tower. The canvas shades the entire bridge & cockpit area. The canvas on the buggy top over the tuna tower was also replaced & is new. This was all done to match the new, black & gold pin striping added to the vessel. The old pin striping was removed.

The new black & gold striping & canvas make the vessel very, crisp, & sharp looking. It punctuates the lines of this Classic 48 Hatteras. Not to sound cliche, but she really is a beautiful boat & highly recognizable.

There is no name on the transom, however, she was last named La Mouute which means the Seagull in French.

At the helm, on the fly bridge, the dash board was reconfigured to house the newly installed, Duel, Raymarine, E120W, 12'', touch screen, Chart Plotter, Fish Finder units.

They are interfaceble through NMEA 2000 & 0183.

They are capable of being interfaced with up to three cameras each for video integration, AIS, Sirus/Satellite Weather, SeaTalk where they can be hooked up to up to five screens.
Currently it is interfaced with an HD Transducer & a New, HD Radar.

The dash was raised ten inches to make everything fit nicely.

Two, new, VHF radios were installed. One is a Raymarine & the other is an ICom.

A new, Fusion, Bluetooth, stereo system was installed with two 400w amplifiers. One amp is dedicated to two, ten inch, new, JL Audio speakers under the helm.

The other 400w amp boosts the four other new, JL Audio 8 inch speakers.

There are canvas covers for the cockpit as well. New pictures coming soon.

The entire bridge is newly enclosed with new Strataglass which is more ridged & thicker than Isinglass.

Strataglass is engineered with a proprietary, anti-glare additive that enhances clarity, reduces sun glare and improves low light visibility. It features VueShield, a highly engineered scratch resistant coating technology. This proprietary coating makes the product resistant to minor scratches and swirl marks that are common to clear vinyl products in the harsh marine environment. VueShield offers additional UV resistance to protect the boat, passengers and furnishings from the sun's harmful rays. VueShield seals and protects Strataglass maintaining its optimum durability, flexibility and extends the products life.

The Vessel is turn key, ready for a live aboard or extended stays, & she is running great!

The boat includes outriggers, a freezer on deck next to the bait staton, underwater lights, courtesy lights, & an LED light bar on the tower.

Information On Condition

The boat is in very good condition.

Halon fire system needs to be re certified.

Radio is not interfaced yet.

No autopilot, but there are some parts for it aboard like a pump & actuator that is connected to the steering.

Wiring in the boat is great. Not too much has to be redone.

Everything else on the boat has been gone through to make sure everything is working well.

Seller has about $110,000 in receipts.

Boat is kept waxed & clean.

Seller also changed out all the through hull connections & added one so he could plumb a live well in the future.

There is one each for the engines, the generator, the ac, raw water wash down, & one for a live well connection.

The through hulls were all Bronze & the seller changed them all to Marelon which is a high strength, polymer composite, developed as a solution to electrolysis and corrosion problems associated with bronze/brass plumbing fittings. Marelon will not corrode or deteriorate; no electrolysis. UL/ABYC approved; ISO certified.
