This boat is a the predecessor to the 28 Bertram. Jim Wynn, the designer, was a friend of Richard Bertram and Raymond Hunt.
After Mr. Bertram witnessed Raymond Hunt winning all the Nassau, Bahamas races with his wave smashing 22-degree deadrise he contracted Hunt to build the famous Bertram 28.
Wynn was fond of the design but felt it could use some improvements.
The 29 Phoenix sports the same 22-degree deadrise but adds more room in the cabin and cockpit.
The Wynn design does not have engine boxes taking up the cockpit space, and the extra room in the cabin keeps the family happy while remaining a hardcore pocket sport fishing vessel.
This vessel was on freshwater up until 2009 when it came to Texas from Lake Ontario, New York. The interior is in very good condition with no mold or mildew and a fresh clean smell to it. The designer came up with a very smart layout for sure. Step inside and you will see what I mean.
60-day Sea Tow membership* comes standard with your boat purchase!
