1990 Silverton 40c Convertible Fishing Boat in Forked River, New Jersey

Stock #135967

Although located in Canada, due to Canadian regulations, this boat is not available for sale to potential buyers in Canada.

Built in southern New Jersey by legendary boat builders Warren and John Luhrs, the Silverton line of motoryachts and cruisers is known to their owners for being solidly built and as easy and economical to maintain and operate as could ever be expected of any boat in its class.

Silvertons also share classic, timeless design elements much in the same manner as fine antique furniture... there will always be a slip at yacht club or dock behind a stately home where a Silverton of any age will just seem to "belong", the captain on the bridge or couple dining in the salon appearing to be just what you would expect... in decorator terms, coordinated with their surroundings.

And what surroundings those are. Three berths sleeping up to six in her forward master stateroom, her convertible dinette and salon sofa bed, a full head with separate shower, what a land lubber would simply call a bathroom, and an amply equipped galley, which they would call a kitchen.

Then there is the huge salon area where kids or grand-kids can roll around on the carpet or jump up and down on the sofa, plenty of cabinets for the board games, coloring books and toys... oh, wait, such a dated vision, just hand them an iPad and get back to staring at your phone.

Alternatively, or additionally, some of the guests may forgo contemplating their palms for a few hours, pick up a fishing rod and do something equally useless but perhaps more challenging, occasionally even exciting as they try to outwit a significantly more primitive species in the waters below, and for that the large wash down cockpit comes in handy.

All that beehive of activity going on while the captain and a companion or two, or four are up on the spacious fly bridge enjoying the breeze and deftly piloting this nautical playpen as she glides smoothly, quietly and powerfully through the waters.

It's quite a vision, perhaps if you contemplate the painting for a bit you will see yourself within it.

Information On Condition

For a vessel approaching three decades in age she is still in pretty good condition, little makeup required, essentially of good genes, fed properly and exercised regularly with a few rough spots and blemishes, mostly genetic and shared by her peers.

Her owner reports that with the exception of the generator, which is in need of repair, all her systems, helm, propulsion, climate, power and water function properly, the pictures tell the story on the cosmetics, and what we are talking about here is a boat that has been maintained in original condition... no modifications, re-powering or other "improvements", simply a well made boat doing what all well made boats do... reward their owners' loving care with performance and longevity.
