So you want to get out there with your friends and fish. You first need a platform that will accommodate you, your buddies and all of your gear. Next you will need a boat that is solid and sturdy enough when the seas unexpectedly get a little rough. Now maybe you want something that can get you out of some unexpected weather that just rolled in.
Well you have all of that with the Sport Craft 270 Fisherman. You get a large cockpit area that can accommodate quite a few anglers at once. You get a very strong, well made hull with a deep vee, weighing in at almost 6200 lbs dry weight keeping you stable through the rougher seas. You also have an upper and lower helm station for the times the weather isn't so much in your favor. There are a couple of fish boxes, a bait station and raw water wash down to sweep away the days mess out of the self bailing cockpit. The coaming pads are at just the right height to keep you comfortable during a day at the rails.
For extra storage or to safely secure your gear or even to overnight, the Sport Craft does have a nice cuddy cabin. With overhead rod storage, in seat storage and a double berth, you will be fine spending the night at your local fishing grounds waiting for the tuna to bite at sunrise.
When you first see this boat, you will instantly think to yourself, "This is not a 1982 boat." You will be partially correct in that thought. The hull is certainly a 1982 and built to last. The gel coat on it is pretty close to flawless, I did notice a scratch of about 3 inches well above the water line and a couple very tiny chips in the stern. Other than that, the hull looks fantastic.
While on the deck I noticed a couple of loose stainless deck screws but that is a simple fix. I did not notice, however, any cracking on the deck and everything seemed to be well cared for.
The engine that was installed new in March 2012 currently has 68 hours on it. It is fuel injected and fresh water cooled. The transmission was rebuilt when the new engine was installed.
The entire boat has been marina serviced since the current owner has owned it. Trim tabs were added to the boat when the owner purchased it. The coaming pads are still serviceable but are beginning to show signs of being well used.
This is a boat that has caught plenty of fish and has a great number of years left to catch many more.
60-day Sea Tow membership* comes standard with your boat purchase!
