Hello, my name is Cindy Kirby, I am a third generation Floridian and I have lived in beautiful Vero Beach, Florida for the last thirty years. I love the river, the inlets, the ocean and the island lifestyle. Over the years my husband and I have owned many boats, from a thirty year old 15' skiff to a 46' motor yacht that we split with two other couples for crossing over to the Bahamas, as well as others. We like to pleasure cruise the Indian River year round, hang out on the islands and sandbars with friends and family. We also like to go deep sea fishing which often means going 25 miles off shore here in Vero Beach in order to reach the Gulf Stream, we troll as well as bottom fish. Other times we just like to get on our boat and cruise to a restaurant for dinner and drinks. Also each year we trailer our boat to Key West for a week or longer stay. We often go during mini lobster season to bag a few bugs, we will travel many miles off shore to dive an old sunken ship that my husband found on a map or snorkel a beautiful coral reef. In March of 2021 we took a week long trip down the ICW from Vero Beach to Key Largo. What a beautiful landscape to see from the water... urban Miami skyscrapers to laid back Key Largo palm trees, sport fishing and so much more. What a beautiful way to spend each day!


I also love camping! My first love was the Volkswagen Westfalia popup Vanagon camper. I was obsessed!!! I wanted one long after they were no longer manufactured and they were hard to find, so after much pleading with my husband in 1998 I sold my new car in order to buy a twelve year old VW Westy. It was white with a standard 4 speed manual transmission and no A/C... in Florida that was a BIG deal! My husband and a mechanic friend spent weeks to retrofit it with A/C for me. That was the only car I drove for five years. My girls were very popular at car pickup when the patrols would slide that door open and all the kids would see the inside of our cool looking bus with its little kitchen, gas stove, sink, refrigerator, closet and cabinets. The design of those buses are incredible, it's amazing how so much can fit in such a small space! It had a popup top that sleeps two up top, and two down below. I loved that bus! In 2016 we were missing that bus and decided to do that all over again. We purchased one of the last VW Westfalia made, a 1990 in original but good condition for its age (27 years), we restored her to be even better than before. Check out the pics of my Swamp Bus here. We took great Smokey Mountain trips in her and traveled to distant SEC games. In 2019 we decided our camping adventures required a bit more comfort than the VW could provide so we sold our beloved Swamp Bus and moved to a 27' Airstream, which we named "The Bean". She is my new love along with our Hydrasport 2900 Vector Express.


I believe Life is an Adventure! Do the things that bring joy and memories to your life. My two girls have grown up around the water, boating and camping, it has been part of their lives, memories that will be with them forever!
