I learned to sail on Rehoboth Bay, DE by dragging the Phantom on my back across an empty lot and launching from a seawall. Those years of sailing led to a part-time stint as a sailing instructor at a jet ski rental location, one that I could conveniently sail to. This led to a full time sailing gig at a yacht club and proper US Sailing certification along with countless hours of water skiing, fishing and trying not to pitchpole Hobie Cats.
Since then I have motored, sailed, raced, and most importantly owned a variety of boats. Most recently I sold my 35' Hunter and bought a 53' Amel with the ultimate goal of a circumnavigation. In-between all my sailing experience, I had a long stint with powerboating and earned my Captain's license. I have also owned a 5th Wheel and I am currently renovating a Vanagon for some camping expeditions.
Years of boat ownership has taught me the importance of a good survey and how to transport boats long distances - I bought my Amel in Grenada without a sea trial.
I spend my free time with my wife, Danielle, and dog, Dock, sailing, diving, fishing and surfing the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay. Sometimes I even get lucky and convince a friend to run me out to the canyons for some Tuna fishing.
