I'm a long time resident of Fort Collins Colorado. My two great kids were born and raised here. I've owned my own businesses since 1989, served public office and build a great community of friends and clients locally. Fort Collins is a great place to call home.
I'm a water spirit and at peace when I'm on the water. Originally from Lincoln Nebraska, in the summer I could often be found at Lake McConaughy, Lake Waconda or the local sand pits. In the years to follow I have visited nearly every coastal state in the US. I learned early that the water was the way to escape the heat, recharge my batteries and fill my soul.
During my two years in West Africa we mostly boated in dug-out canoes. We did get the chance to visit aboard the freighters that would stop for local cargo. Dinner with the captain and a trip to the ship's stores was a special treat for us poor volunteers.
After college I moved to Colorado and spent the next 20 years cruising the back roads and camping the state in our little travel trailer. As a source state, Colorado has abundant rivers and reservoirs and of course the most beautiful camping spots.
We've also enjoyed the great fun of house boating at Lake Powell many times over the years.
Horsetooth reservoir and the Poudre River, a national wild and scenic byway are both within minutes of my home - and offer wonderful recreational opportunities we have always enjoyed.
About 20 years ago, my extended family bought a lake house at LBJ in Texas. Wow, I still look forward to spending a week every summer at that lake house. Two boats and wave runners too. Fishing, cruising, skiing, tubing, all my kinds of fun.
After my husband died I had the chance to purchase a motor home. It offered to extend the reach of our travels and memory making as a family especially at a time when we needed to support one another so much. The kids were still young and we would take off whenever we had a chance traveling as far as The San Juan Islands in the Puget Sound, Puerto Penasco on the Sea of Cortz and Padre Islands on the Gulf.
Finally, in 2005 I had the chance I was born for...a sailing trip to the BVI. I spent 12
f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s days aboard a beautiful 72ft Irwin sloop. I thought I might never come home.
Subsequently, I've had the pleasure of crewed 8 trips to the BVI on luxury cats. Slice of paradise that is. It's where you will find me in my retirement.
I own a kayak and love to paddle. I'm an excellent cook and hostess, which is how I got the chance to crew sailing trips. I enjoy a quiet day with a book whether under the shadow of a mountain or in the sun at the beach. Most importantly, I enjoy the relaxing time shared with my family and friends.
I've LOVED compact living long before tiny houses became popular. Why? Well not because I don't have "stuff, I do, but because the boat and RV mean adventure, family time and fun. They mean escape from the everyday, from the office, the lawn and the stuff; Escape and the opportunity to make memories.
It is a completely freeing feeling to get packed and go. Whether it's a day trip with the ski boat to the lake, a family camp in the pop-up, or an escape to your live aboard in some crystal blue water.
Everyone deserves the chance to make those kind of memories and I can help. Let's talk about the times of your life and what it takes to make them happen. Call me, I'm Pirate and a dreamer. Arrrg you ready to make memories?
