Introduced in 1973, the DeFever 40 Passagemaker is a fiberglass semi-displacement hull produced by Jensen Marine in Costa Mesa, CA.
This boat underwent an extensive refit in 2005 which included a Cummins 6BT-5.9-M diesel engine, a Northern Lights 6KW gen set, and a Flagship Marine 18,000 BTU air conditioning unit, to highlight just a few of the upgrades.
This is a roomy comfortable trawler, both inside and out. The interior boasts 2 staterooms, 2 heads, a large salon and a convenient and functional galley with Force 10 3-burner stove/oven and an Isotherm side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. There is also a full-function interior helm.
Outside the boat offers wide side decks with port and starboard deck doors, a large bow with Lofrans Tigres windlass, a huge flybridge with isinglass and canvas enclosure, and a large aft deck and lazaretto.
Navigational electronics include a Garmin 2210, Raymarine ST60+ depth sounder, and Furuno radar and autopilot.
Electrical hardware includes 1 cranking battery for the main engine, 1 cranking battery for the gen set, 6 house storage batteries, and two batteries forward to power the windlass and the Vetus bow thruster.
There is also a Balmar SmartGuage battery monitoring system, an OutBack Power Control system, a Mastervolt Chargemaster 12/50-3 charger, a Boost 3000W inverter, and 2 Kyocera 270W solar panels.
Recent additions (past two years) include a second AC unit (Dometic 16000 BTU), commercial-grade aluminum swim platform and dive ladder, Garmin 8610xsv GPS and transducer, ICOM M505 VHF, Pirate Light security alarm system, and many other upgrades.
Additionally, the bulwarks, deck and cabin sides up to the flybridge have been freshly painted, the rudder was dropped reworked, repacked, and reinstalled. and the PSS dripless shaft seal was replaced.
All-in-all, extensive time and funds have been spent in just the past two years making sure this boat is in top-notch condition. Ask your broker for a copy of the Seller's Description included in the listing DOCS file.
