HUGE PRICE REDUCTION!

BUC Valuation for this 1969 Grand Banks 42 in "average" condition with a single inboard is $76,100-$83,600.

This is an absolute steal for anyone looking for a fantastic liveaboard or cruising yacht at a giveaway price!

This beautiful and spacious solid teak Grand Banks 42 Classic is an absolute dream for anyone looking for an affordable liveaboard or charter/fishing/dive business.

The 6'6" headroom throughout makes this boat feel much larger than it is.

Below deck you'll be impressed with the beautiful original woodwork, the spacious galley, the large and comfortable dinette - which easily seats six - and the lower helm.

The aft cabin features two double berths - with a bright and spacious head/shower/bathtub (yes, bathtub!) compartment with plenty of storage and several mirrors. There is also an external gangway and hatch for easy access to the aft deck and flybridge. Again, the headroom is impressive, as is the teak woodwork.

The forward V-berth cabin also has an en-suite head with stand up shower.

The twin Ford Lehman diesels are fired weekly and run beautifully!

The 600-gallon fuel capacity in four steel 150 gallon tanks ensures you can safely get around the islands.

While the flybridge deck currently does not have a frame installed for either a bimini or canvas eisenglass enclosure, there is a basic one in storage which could be re-installed.

This is a wonderful 'bonus' deck with ample dinette seating, a helm, two fish boxes and rod holders.

This is the perfect space to entertain guests, go whale watching, watch the fireworks or enjoy the floating Christmas parade of lights.

The lower-level aft deck previously had fighting chairs which could be re-installed. This would also be suitable for conversion into dive tank storage. The transom door opens up to a swim platform, making it ideal for convenient and safe diving.

The upper-level aft deck previously held a dinghy but could also be fitted out with sun mats for additional entertainment space.

She was historically a Kenwood Cup Judge's boat and has endless potential to become your dream liveaboard or charter or dive business.

She is currently insured and USCG registered.

Information On Condition

If you're looking for a solid boat that is mechanically sound which needs some finishing touches to be restored to her former elegance, don't let this one pass you by!

Being sold "as is, where is." Personal inspection, in-water survey and mechanical inspection are ok.

Sellers will include any materials they have in storage which they were using for the ongoing renovations (mostly misc. pieces of teak, etc.)

The last haul-out was about four years ago when current owners (second) bought her. She is due for another one soon with the bottom to be re-painted and zincs replaced. Sellers estimate this will cost around $3,500 if a new owner buys the supplies and does the work themselves or $6-8k if the work must be contracted out. This has been taken into consideration in the asking price.

There is some wood rot in the areas above the berths which will need to be attended to.

The main deck is very solid with no soft spots. There are a few soft spots on the flybridge deck, which would benefit from being re-enforced.

The original fridge is currently not working and is being used for storage. A modern half-fridge has been added to the galley.

The 5 kW Onan generator looks to be original and will need to either be repaired or replaced. There is plenty of room in the engine compartment for a brand new one.

The water heater should be checked. The current owners have not yet used it.

Some ceiling areas need to be replaced or repaired.

Sliding windows need to be removed with track repaired.

Not all engine instruments are functioning. Some need to be repaired or replaced.

The antenna for the chart plotter needs to be connected properly by a technician.

The engine electrical starting system needs to be cleaned up.

Overall, this classic beauty requires several small projects to be attended to and needs some tender loving care to be an absolutely exquisite and enviable yacht!

Sellers are getting older and no longer have time to continue renovations. They are motivated to see her go to a new, loving owner soon!
