This salty little yacht was designed by Royal Lowell and built out on a Sisu fiberglass hull by Heritage Pownal in Maine in 1980.
In 2004 she was completely refitted including a 2002 Cummins 5.9 BT 6 cylinder inline turbo diesel with current hours at 2956. She also was completely rewired and replumbed and a new aluminum fuel tank added that holds 120 gallons and all-new welded aluminum window frames with tinted glass for deck house. Her freshwater tank is stainless steel and holds 85 gallons.
She cruises very economically at 8 knots with a 300-mile range.
Her instruments and electronics include Lowrance LC 18C GRS GPS plotter/chart fathometer with entire East Coast and Bahama map chips. She has Danforth Constellation magnetic steering compass at the lower station. The VHF is a Standard Horizon Quest DSC with an antenna. She also comes with a Simrad AP26 Autopilot which the seller tells us works fantastic! The Cummins engine control panels with Tachometer/ hours, oil pressure gauge, coolant temperature meter, voltmeter and oil pressure, volts, temperature, and water in fuel idiot lights at both helm stations.
Electrical includes 210 Watt solar panels on Bimini tops with an MPPT 2/21 solar charge controller. There is a Trimetic 2020 Bogent battery monitor and Battery combiner. Batteries include 4 group 31 12 lead-acid batteries (2 house and 2 engine start both new in 2021) Also included are Alpenglow 12 volt red and white cabin lights, 12-volt swivel reading lights, 12-volt cigarette lighter plugs, and a 12-volt fan in V berth.
In the Galley, you will find a stainless steel sink, a Force 10 2 burner propane stove, an Engel 12 volt roll-out freezer/reefer box (1 cubic ft), dish bins, and stemware storage racks.
The plumbing includes Stainless Steel sinks in the head and galley and a hand pump marine toilet. There is a handheld shower in the cockpit and a Shureflo 12 volt freshwater pressure pump.
As far as the layout - beginning first forward is her anchor rode locker. Next aft is a V berth with ample storage and a Bowmar hatch overhead with a reversing hinge lid for ventilation. Her interior is finished in simple Herreshoff style with white paint and varnished Mahogany trim. She has edged wall-to-wall carpet in the forward cabin and soon. Next aft to port is the head with a hand pump marine toilet and a stainless sink. Across to starboard is a hanging locker.
Up over the engine compartment is the salon/galley with the lower helm station to stbd forward. An "L shaped Dinetteto port and a galley work area to stbd. The settee can sleep one additional person.
The countertops are Formica. The aft two salon side windows open and have insect screens. Next aft is her open aft deck with a Bimini top over. The flybridge is over the top of the salon/galley with a Bimini top as well.
She would make an excellent "Great Looper."
Her interior is simple, very clean and in good condition.
Repowered with a Cummins diesel 5.9 BT and almost completely refitted in 2004.
Hull is a fiberglass layup. Her decks, cabins and coach tops are plywood laminated with fiberglass in excellent condition. She is painted with a copolymer paint system which is in great condition and economical to maintain.
There is no AC or generator. Everything runs very economically from the Solar panels.
