The Willard Vega 30' was produced from 1972 to 1975 and was designed in-house by Hale Field. During 4 short years, an incredible 110 Vega 30's were produced from Willard molds. The line included 4 different versions on the same hull: Searcher, Voyager, Nomad, and Horizon motorsailer.

1972 Willard Vega 30' Searchers is a Pilothouse style trawler with a true displacement hull, a round bottom for soft ride and a 4200 lbs ballasted keel. Displaces around 17000 lbs empty. Hull is 30' LOA is approx. 33' Beam is 10'6" Draws 3'6" Bridge height 20' mast up. Full keel with solid bronze rudder. Solid bronze skid plate. Solid bronze 24" fully protected propeller.

Functional for long-distance cruising layout features a flybridge above, a pilothouse with second helm station below, and a lowered aft cabin. The searcher is one of the most popular models due to her well-proportioned, salty good looks and excellent seakeeping abilities.

Re-powered in 1983 with an 80hp Cummins 4B 3.9-M diesel. The boat is in the water, engine starts and runs well. New batteries installed. Spacious cabin with hardwood cabinets has air conditioning (shore power only). Rear deck seats six around a table.

The Cummins engine Burns less than 1 gal per hour. 6 knots gets you an astounding 5-6 nautical miles PER gallon. With 100 gal fuel capacity, this boat can go long distances very inexpensively.

The manufacturer claims that at 1200rpm you should achieve 4.3 knots with a fuel consumption rate of 0.3 gal per hour extending your cruising range to over 1200 miles.

There are three automatic bilge pumps. Both steering stations have VHF radios, GPS Navigation, compasses and engine gauges. Pilothouse helm offers excellent visibility and protection from the elements.

Fresh water tank has 100-gallon capacity. Hot water heater runs on dockside power or heats off engine. There is also galley sink, head sink, and cockpit shower.

Head compartment features a full-size manually operated toilet with a 25 gal waste tank.

Galley features a propane stove, microwave, ice box and sink.

With extended range, diesel propulsion, dual helm stations, full galley and enclosed head this trawler offers comfortable long-distance cruising without breaking the bank.

Dinghy included: 8' with 4 hp motor

This boat was in the Bahamas and is back in Fort Pierce r now. 100 mile trip from the Bahamas to Fort Pierce without a hiccup.

The door to the head has a broken lower panel. It was broken for access due to stored supplies moving during Gulfstream crossing, blocking door opening . Owner had to break through to open door.

It's a 45 year old boat, it could use some TLC, but it is perfectly fine the way it is. If you are expecting a show queen, find another boat. This boat is for a working man who wants a working boat.
