1973 Willard Vega 30 Searcher. One of 20 made in this configuration. Hull #41 out of 110 total. Heavily built in hand laid fiberglass in California. Has 4200 lbs ballast. Displaces around 17000 lbs empty. Hull is 30' LOA is approx. 33' Beam is 10'6" Draws 3'6" Bridge height 20' mast up. Full keel with solid bronze rudder. Solid bronze skid plate. Solid bronze 24" fully protected propeller.
Fiberglass decks, Solid bronze manually operated windlass which is handy to weigh the 55lb Sampson Lawrence anchor with 150' of 5/16" chain. Secondary Fortress FX-11 with 20' chain and 120' of 1/2 " rode. Saltwater wash down. Bronze cleats. Teak rail. Stainless stanchions. Stainless propane barbecue. Custom features include Paravane stabilizers which improve offshore comfort substantially, swim platform with telescoping 4 step boarding ladder, hard top, and full size companionway door. Rear deck seats six around a table.
Has original fresh water cooled 50 hp Perkins 4-107 which was completely disassembled and rebuilt with all new components in 2015. New starter, Balmar 70 amp alternator, new raw water pump, hot water heater, cooling hoses, muffler, Racor, exhaust riser. Reassembled with all new fasteners.
Burns less than 1 gal per hour. (0.75-0.8) with a speed of about 5 1/2 - 6 knots gets you an astounding 5-6 nautical miles PER gallon. With 100 gal fuel capacity, this boat can go long distances very inexpensively. Manufacturer claims that at 1200rpm you should achieve 4.3 knots with a fuel consumption rate of 0.3 gal per hour extending your cruising range to over 1200 miles. Has 80 square foot steadying sail and 20 square foot jib which may help slightly.
Borg and Warner Velvet drive transmission 2.57:1 reduction gear.
Has 115V A/C system with 30A shore power cable and adapters for 50A and 115V. Electric hot water. 12000 BTU Mermaid reverse cycle marine air conditioning. 18A dockside battery charger. Brand new batteries (4 X 6V golf cart and a separate 12V marine starting). 3000W Kisae inverter, 2 X 100W solar panels. Three automatic bilge pumps. Both steering stations have Garmin 441s chart plotters, Sitex Sp 70/80 auto pilot controls, VHF radios, compasses, engine gauges and depth. Lower station also has older Furuno GPS as backup.

Flares, spare filters, fluids, 10' Aruba kayak with paddle, 4 fishing rod holders, some fishing gear, fuel and water jugs, fenders, dock lines, deck chair, 3 fire extinguishers, binoculars, generation 1 night vision scope, life ring, cooler, lots of paperwork including owner's manual.
The Topside paint is new as of March 2016. The vessel has osmotic blistering, and some spalling in concrete ballast which is typical for this brand. You decide if it's worth addressing.
