1962 Youngquist Custom Monk 40 Trawler in Seattle, Washington

Stock #190361

This is a classic Ed Monk design built in Seattle by Youngquist Boats; currently in the Registry of Wooden Boats. The interior maple woodwork is in very good condition in most areas, allowing for a beautiful refit.

The salon area is spacious with an inside helm and side galley. The upper helm is covered with a hard top, and opens to the rear with a canvas cover and enclosure that is in need of repair or replacement.

The aft cabin includes a double bed, with access to the back deck. The forward berth V berth is currently being used for storage, but could easily be transformed to a berth for two. With a hide-a-bed sofa in the salon, it could easily sleep 6.

The galley is equipped with a range (condition unknown) an, a stainless steel sink, and a refrigerator freezer.

Information On Condition

The hull is reported to be in good condition, as it was hauled out recently, maintenance was performed, it was painted, and bottom paint was applied.

The engine runs well, although the exact hours are unknown. The top deck seems solid, although the hard-top needs attention. It has been moored in a covered slip, so rot appears to be negligible.
