This what the navy calls a utility or work boat it's duty was aid other vessels so it was not set up with showers and captain quarters, the rank of the skipper was probably no higher than an LTJG. It was sometimes used as a Tug , a noise m easuring boat or Etc, it most likely never spent time out at sea."

This vessel needs an owner who appreciates her potential as a commercial enterprise, or a unique liveaboard. (current slip location not open to liveaboards)

Galley on the main deck. Berths including Captain's quarters and crew quarters, two heads, engine compartment with twin engines and generators, and a workshop all on the lower level.

Renovations underway. New photos will be taken when completed.

She is powered Twin 8V 71 Detroit diesel - Per the seller, "Both engines are fantastic. Mahogany and oak hull are structurally sound and in good condition." Bilge is dry.

Fuel Capacity -- 1150 gallons

Cruising range of 500 or so nautical miles, or 250 out and 250 back.

Best Cruise speed - 6-8 knots
Max FLANK speed - 11-12 knots

Freshwater capacity 380 gals.

The Hull is in good condition. the ship has twin six-cylinder diesel powered Generators for electrical power also GMs. Plumbing system in good repair.

At one time was a Commercial passenger, U.S. Coast Guard, approved rating of 53 including crew. Standard compass navigation, Mast Lights, Running Light, shore power system hookup in good condition.

This historic Naval vessel was originally commissioned to be a "Sound Measuring Boat". It was architected to cruise in coastal waters recording and measuring the sound signature of war submarines. It was referred to as a sub chaser.

They were built of doubled planked oak and mahogany wood, with bronze, brass and copper fittings throughout. This vessel has all the original fixtures, bronze toilets and retractable stainless steel washbasins. The ship is 73 Feet in length, and it has a 15-foot beam.

Electrical power provided = 12 volt, 110 volt, 120 and 220 by one six cylinder and one four cylinder diesels. All engines are in good operable condition. Some suggested uses for this vessel could be for diving, fishing, Bay cruising, charters or other commercial ventures. Also, a great live aboard ship. It is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard for a capacity of 53 passengers while cruising. The ship will sleep about 15 or so people crew's quarters Naval bunk style beds, and a queen bed in the captains quarters.

The vessel is listed in the National Historical Naval Ships Association's Registry of Historic Boats of the U.S. Navy, Item # 135.

Information On Condition

She could use some cosmetic TLC and there is some dry rot on the rub rail but all and all she's reported to be in good / sound condition.

Per seller -- All engines are in good operable condition.
Lots of possible applications for this boat.
