1979 Spectra Day Cruiser in La Habra, California

Stock #222259

Spectra Marine was founded in Burbank, California in the early 1970s by Ed Delong and chief designer Bud Bailey. Bud Bailey helped design boats for Campbell Boats in the 1960s and Hallett Boats in the 1980s.
Spectra Marine made 5 hulls 18, 19, 20, 24, and 32. All hulls were used in racing applications from river enduros to Offshore racing.

The Spectra 20 was considered the most splashed boat of the 1970s.

Spectra Marine ceased production in 1981. Since that time it has been considered a very popular classic race boat seen at the river and other lakes throughout North America.

This boat was originally purchased to be a gift for the seller's father. It was meticulously brought back to its past glory prior to his passing.

The boat has in the last year been gone through from stem to stern.

New upholstery and seats, new marine-grade carpeting, new trim tab pump, new batteries, new carb kit, major service on the engine and outdrive, fresh paint on the trailer, new tires, wheels, bearings, disc brakes, tongue, and bunks for the trailer at a cost of over $11,655.

All receipts are available.

The bimini is in like-new shape and there is a custom-fitted cover for the boat.

If you like the idea of cruising in your favorite lake or at the river and having heads turn when you go by, this is a great boat to do just that. It brings back the glory of those early years and enables you to enjoy the thrill of the wind in your face at 55 MPH.

Serious Offers only, please.

Information On Condition

The boat is in great shape for being 41 years old. Some slight stress marks around a few fixures and moldings. Other than that it looks great.

The boat mechanically runs great (according to the seller) and everything works as it should.

The trailer is in great shape with new bearings, tires, wheels, disc brakes, bunks, tongue, and paint.

In the last year the following was done. Reupholstered seats Major Service New Batteries New Trim Tab Pump Carburator rebuild New Gimbal on the stern drive New tires, wheels, disk brakes, tongue, and bunks for the trailer Receipts show over $11,650 in cost.
