A stylish, well-built offshore fishing boat, the 1996 Pursuit 2870 Walkaround is a pleasure to fish with its large aft deck.
Below deck, creature comforts include an enclosed head and a V-berth that converts to a dinette. There is an enclosed head with a manual flush toilet and a sink with a faucet that pulls out to make a shower.
The Pursuit 2870 provides a comfortable ride in fair or foul weather and the twin Yamaha 200 HP 2-stroke outboards will get you there quickly.
The cockpit is open and allows free movement for fishing.
A transom door and bait and tackle rigging station are located along the transom bulkhead.
The helm and passenger seating consists of adjustable seats with removable cushions.
The helm has all the gauges and switches to run and monitor the boat. Electronics include a Garmin GPSmap 541s, and a Cobra VHF.
Passenger seating are also molded fish boxes. Coaming pads, under-gunwale fishing rod holders, and built-in rod holders can be found to either side of the cockpit.
The overall condition of the Pursuit is good.
The boat was found to be dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning.
The hull had a few surface scrapes, but nothing into the fiberglass.
The cockpit deck hatch has a slight soft spot on the starboard front.
