We're sorry to see this one go but happy to say that she has been sold.
The Cheoy Lee is a classic offshore cruiser with beautiful lines not found in many modern cruisers. The Offshore 40 is a fast and comfortable cruising sailboat. They are known to be secure under all sea conditions. Whether exploring harbors or islands or circumnavigating the globe, the Cheoy Lee Offshore 40 is well known on both coasts. As Arthur Beisler said they are truly "proper yachts."
This Cheoy Lee Offshore 40 is a doable project. Some of her wood is in very good condition, some needs maintenance/restoration, and some needs replacement. Motivated Seller is willing to look at all offers! Great opportunity for the sailor who is willing to restore the woodwork. This boat would sell for more but is under a deadline to sell by May 15th.
This Cheoy Lee has an outstanding inventory of sails, including 120 Genoa, and Mainsail with three battens made by Ballard Sails in 2008 and have not been used. She has matching red spinnaker and mizzen sails made of ripstop nylon which has been rarely used and a newly refinished Spinnaker pole. And she has an older Jib which is in good condition. The rigging was replaced in 2008 and has not been used.
New and unused Radar ($3500) and Self Steering Windvane ($2500) is included with an offer at full price. She also has a new GPS. The value of the sails, wind vane, and new electronics alone is worth the price of this Cheoy Lee.
This vessel is looking for a new owner who appreciates the solid construction, comfortable salon, and unique aft cabin enough to bring her back to her original head-turning beauty.
The deck has recently had work done. The deck has some leaking but does not seem to be visible inside. The bilge is dry. The engine runs, but the fuel is over two years old and there is an issue in the exhaust system. The mast appears in fair condition but in need of varnishing.
The running rigging has been redone recently. All of the standing riggings were removed and stored for deck work. Most of the original parts, including the dinette table, which has been removed or replaced are also stored and available to the new owner.
This Cheoy Lee was under exterior and interior restoration when the owners needed to relocate.
Some maintenance records are available.
Freshwater cooling system.
Ballast is encapsulated.
The last haul out/bottom job 2011.
